クラーク・リトルは１９６８年カリフォルニア州ナパで生まれ、その２年後に父親の仕事でハワイ州ノースショアに移住した。

1980～90年代にかけて地元ワイメアベイで、危険なショアブレイクサーフィンのパイオニアとしてその名と才能を轟かせた。

転機が訪れたのは2007年、クラークの妻がベッドルームに海の写真が飾りたいとクラークに頼んだことが始まりだった。 彼はそのサーフィンの技術と経験、何より海への情熱でカメラを手にすることを決め、美しく、そして力強いハワイのショアブレイクを撮り始めた。

彼の写真はAppleやNikonの広告やナショナル・ジオグラフィック、ニューヨークタイムズ新聞にも掲載され、ワシントンDCのスミソニアン博物館にも作品が展示されるなど、サーフ界の外へも拡大している。2011年5月にスミソニアン博物館で「Oceans Photography Award 」を受賞。

2011年ハワイのノースショアにクラーク・リトル ギャラリーがオープン。
